![]() Even more fun, for me at least, was the film’s unbridled commitment to strong female characters. Maybe it was the heat, the two and a half hour graduation I had just attended or the tension that always arises at such events when divorced parents are involved, but the Robin Hood I watched last Saturday night was entertaining, eloquent and dark-fit characteristics considering the story’s setting smack dab in the heart of England’s Middle Ages. Even more surprisingly, not far into the 130-minute long film, I found myself beginning to really enjoy it. But then last weekend, stranded in a “dry” town outside of Boston at a family reunion of sorts, I found myself oddly suggesting the movie to my similarly worn-out family members one evening. Not one for epic period piece action flicks, I had no intention of seeing the film, especially after reading its mediocre reviews. ![]() She is also a masochist, as when she is impaled in her death, her scream is mixed with both pain and perverse pleasure. On May 14th, Ridley Scott’s Robin Hood opened in theaters worldwide to indifferent and some would say dismal critical reception. She also has interest in aggressive sexual kinks, as beneath her robe of nobility lies a BDSM dominatrix outfit, showing her sadism isn't just for violence acts. She loves to kill people, her preferred method of murder being decapitations, and she thoroughly enjoys the pain and death she causes. Marie is extremely vicious and bloodthirsty, traits that were apparent even when she was a child. However, since the Haunted House is a ride, it is unknown if that is real. There are indications in the haunted house that Marie was always bloodthirsty even from a young age, the most telling of which is a crayon drawing depicting her decapitating someone. ![]() With that, the Haunted House stage is cleared. Her blood gushes from her mangled body and flowed down the brook. When defeated, she loses her balance as she loses her connection to the fountain's evil essence, plunging straight onto the sharp end of fountain peak screaming, and she gets impaled to death. Players' only hope at this point is that they shoot as fast as they can before Marie has a chance to toss energy waves at them: easier said than done. ![]() When played with a partner, Marie shoots two indestructible energy shots, making players' safety in number useless. Energy shots are indestructible and like Marie's axe swing, the said energy attacks inflict painful damages. Marie then unleashes energy projectiles at players. When Marie's vitality is eventually reduced to a quarter, she appears floating at the top of a fountain, empowered by unholy essences emanating from the fountain. Halfway through the fight, she loses her dress and continues the battle in her undergarments. But so long as Marie is not close to players, this part of the battle is easier, for Marie's axe projectiles can be shot down, providing players to focus on Marie better. In another phase of the boss battle Marie is capable of flight, and throw her axes at players. With this enhanced stamina, she continues to savagely attack players with her axe, and her axe swings inflict a lot of damage. Although she can take damage anywhere in her body, she does not receive a stun, a rigidity which most foes suffer when they had their weak spots shot by guns in majority of gun games. Marie is an extremely tough boss to take out. A combination of Lizzie Borden and Marie Antoinette, the player encounters her at the end of the Haunted House Level in the cemetery, where she explodes out of a mausoleum and attacks with her axe.
