I just want to know about problems I'm likely to run into. ID3 Tag Editor is a free audio file data tagging ID3 format editor, support ID3 tag version include: ID3v1 and ID3v2, this audio tool can read and write metadata tags for MP3, FLAC, Ogg-Vorbis, Monkey's Audio, Musepack, and Shorten audio files with full Unicode support, this software is freeware and completely free, it is free personal, commercial, and non-profit use. PS: I haven't bought a ipod yet, so I've no way to test it myself, I also have quite a few Japanese CD's and I'd like to encode those using Japanese characters in the tags and filenames. I'm also open to tips on ripping and tagging applications that have Furthermore, will the ipod accept such coding and show everything correctly (regardless of whether the menu is set to Chinese, Norwegian or English).Īlso, will the ipod complain about file names mixed in both Norwegian and Chinese? More specifically, I'm thinking about a tagging application that lets you code everything as UTF-8 or something similar. Is there any way to set the character set used for an id3-tag, so that I can have both Chinese and Norwegian names come up correctly. The ripping application I've used (AudioGrabber) seems to use ASCII for the tags, so that my Chinese files come out correct, but the ones with Norwegian names come out with garbled filenames and tags. My Windows XP is Chinese, and will display all non-unicode stuff as chinese characters, which means that the tags for my Norwegian songs that have the special Norwegian letters in them will show up as Chinese characters if standard ASCII encoding is used. I have albums with titles in several different languages, except forĮnglish, mostly Norwegian (which uses three special letters, ?)Īnd Chinese (I use simplified Chinese characters). Underway I've run into some problems regarding id3 tags. cheers.I'm currently in the process of converting my entire cd collection Hope you can answer these and everyone else who has similar problems can benefit. And finally is there a way, whilse browsing through my phone to see separate folders for inetrnal (phone) memory contents and external (memory stick) memory contents separately? (as in how it appears using the browse software on my computer). (the less software i have oin my machine the btter).Īlso how does the tracks and playlists get sorted on the phone and where can i edit/modify them in windows explorer. It's still free and still one of the best. So, using this above method of drag and drop, and using mp3 files only, i do not need to download d2p software? (ID3-TagT, 00000) The podcast receiver formerly known as iPodder has a new name: JUICE 2.1. If i drag and drop an mp3 file into the audio sub folder of MSSEMC I can also listen to them without a problem (in fact it will appear twice in my phone if i add the same file direclty into the mp3 folder as above.) My problem is what exaclty is MSSEMC because it also has subfolders such as audio/images etc. If the memory card (as it appears as a removable hard disk in windows explorer) has three folders DCIM (for pictures/images), MP3 (which was empty and where i currently drag and drop mp3 music files directly into, and can then listen without a problem) and MSSEMC. But the fle transfer process, memory card folders and D2P software is just one big question mark. Pete, apologies for (maybe) repeating a qst.
